GMA Network launched its latest afternoon prime drama The Other You last June 21, 2021. The series tells the story of a married couple and the challenges they face dealing with a mental disorder called Dissociative Identity Disorder. It stars Ken Chan (Destiny Rose, Meant To Be, The Cure) as Nelson/Tyler and Rita Daniela (Impostora, Strawberry Lane) as Mia. The two first teamed up in GMA’s phenomenal daytime drama The Heart Knows and was followed by the successful romantic comedy series My Crown Princess. Based on Nielsen Philippines TAM NUTAM People Ratings, The Other You earned an average rating of 5.9 % during its pilot week.

The Other You is the story of Mia and Nelson who fall in love despite the differences in their personalities. Mia is headstrong and feisty, while Nelson is introverted and has a weak personality. They get married and are a happy couple until Mia suffers a miscarriage after an accident. Nelson blames himself for what happened and the overwhelming guilt triggers traumatic memories of his childhood. He loses control and runs away. Mia tries to search for Nelson but does not find him.

A year later, Mia meets Tyler who looks exactly like Nelson. However, unlike Nelson, Tyler is an extrovert with a strong personality. Convinced that Tyler is just Nelson suffering from amnesia, Mia pursues him until she discovers that Tyler is actually Nelson’s other personality. Nelson suffers from DID or Dissociative Identity Disorder. As Mia comes to terms with Nelson’s condition, his colorful life as Tyler results in problems and complications that are too much for Mia to handle.
