Netflix Philippines Picks Up GMA’s Heartful Café

GMA Network’s romantic comedy, Heartful Café will start streaming on Netflix Philippines beginning October 14, 2021. The series was among the top 3 most-watched programs in the Philippines when it aired on primetime in April 2021. It stars Julie Anne San Jose (Envy, Buena Familia) as Heart Fulgencio, an online romance novelist who plays cupid to customers in her coffeeshop; and David Licauco (To the One I Love, One Heartbeat Away) as Ace Nobleza, a young businessman who decides to co-invest in  Heart’s café. The series is the most recent addition to GMA shows on Netflix Philippines including Descendants of the Sun Philippines,  I Can See You,  Love of My Life,  Owe My Love and the movie Family History.

The series revolves around the not-so-ordinary Heartful Café. The quaint café is where online romance novelist and owner, Heart Fulgencio meets a string of characters whom she matches based on their profiles and personalities. Despite playing cupid to people around her, Heart is very careful when dealing with matters involving her heart. She is brokenhearted after Unoher ex-boyfriend, who was her co-owner in the café, left for New York to study.

When her business starts to decline, a handsome young man named Ace Nobleza comes to her rescue and invests in her cafe. Ace uses his investment in the cafe as an opportunity to prove his worth as an entrepreneur. But Heart and Ace’s views on business are very different. They are constantly at odds and do not meet eye to eye. As they both work hard to improve the café, love starts to brew between them.

As Heart and Ace begin to fall in love, Uno returns unexpectedly, and tries to fight his way back into Heart’s life and into the business he helped build.
