Hands on the Dream premiered on GMA’s afternoon block last September 5, 2022. It stars Jillian Ward (Prima Donnas), Carmina Villaroel (Widows’ Web) and Richard Yap (I Left My Heart In Sorsogon). It follows the story of an illiterate mother, Lyneth (Carmina) and her genius daughter, Analyn (Jillian). They go through hardships together, hoping that they will someday reach their dreams and share each other’s triumphs. Based on data from Nielsen Philippines NUTAM, the series earned a 6.3 % rating on its pilot episode and is among the top 3 most-watched afternoon dramas in the Philippines.
Analyn is a genius who was born poor and raised by her illiterate and sickly mother. She graduates from high school at the age of 12 and dreams of becoming a doctor in order to help the less privileged. She graduates from med school at 19 years old and becomes the youngest surgical resident in a large hospital.
Despite her achievements, she has to deal with bullying and competition from her fellow doctors, who are threatened by her age and intelligence.
