Breakthrough Pharma, a leading biopharmaceutical company develops a vaccine that could be the miracle cure for cancer. Greg, a medical researcher in the company steals the experimental drug hoping to use it to cure his mother who has terminal cancer. He administers the drug and soon, his mother’s cancer is gone. The vaccine’s inventor, Dr. Evangeline Lazaro finds out about what Greg did and pardons him on the condition that his mother, Agnes, be placed under observation as the first human recipient of the drug. When Agnes is declared cancer-free, Dr. Lazaro makes the discovery public resulting in an unprecedented demand for the vaccine.

Unknown to Dr. Lazaro, the drug has a side effect that results in the mutation of a dangerous and highly contagious virus that causes a patient to become rabid and violent. Agnes falls ill with the disease and by biting other people, passes on the infection to them. To make matters worse, company insiders have been illegally selling the drug. All hell breaks loose as the disease spreads rapidly not only in the city, but also throughout the countryside.

What was supposed to be a miracle drug is now a deadly epidemic. Greg and Dr. Lazaro must race against time to find the cure before it’s too late.
