Maita and Cielo are sisters and they are also each other’s best friend. However a terrible incident changes their lives forever when Cielo is abducted by unknown men. Maita and her father attempt to rescue Cielo, but her father is killed in the process. Maita searches everywhere for Cielo, until she receives news that her sister is dead. Maita is left alone and miserable, with only her boyfriend, Alex by her side.
Afraid of also losing the man she loves, Maita decides to marry Alex and start a new life. On the eve of their wedding, an unexpected guest arrives. It is Cielo, who resurfaces after being gone for a year. Maita takes Cielo in to live with her and Alex in order to help her sister recover from the traumatic experience. But the terrible events of the year before have changed Cielo. She is no longer the sweet, innocent little sister Maita remembers her to be. Cielo resents Maita for having a better life than her. Cielo becomes jealous of Maita and desperately schemes to steal everything from her sister, including Maita’s husband, Alex.
